SAWA out of the scaffolding
December 17, 2024The construction of SAWA, the first 50-meter-high circular timber building in Rotterdam, is nearing a significant completion phase. With delivery scheduled for 2025, the contours of this groundbreaking project are now clearly visible. And now that SAWA is largely out of the scaffolding, the pure and light character of the wooden design is becoming increasingly apparent.
In September of this year, the highest point was reached with the installation of a specially designed penthouse for the peregrine falcon, symbolizing SAWA's nature-inclusive design. Since then, significant progress has been made on further finishing and detailing.
The building is now almost entirely fitted with its wooden facade, the final part of the low-rise section is currently being completed, and all residences are being finished and furnished internally. The first planters have been hung on the balconies, giving SAWA's green character increasing shape. And the first gallery railings have also been installed, marking another step towards completion.
Completion and Rental in 2025
The completion of SAWA is scheduled for 2025, a highly anticipated milestone. The building will not only be a unique addition to the Rotterdam skyline but also set an example for sustainable, circular high-rise construction worldwide.
Registration for both mid-segment and free-sector rental homes will commence in early 2025. Would you like to know more or register for a home? Visit the SAWA website to stay informed about this groundbreaking project. Together, we look forward to its completion in 2025!
