From opportunities to challenges: why wood construction is the way to CO₂-neutral building

On October 24, NPO2 featured a special broadcast of NTR's Focus science program, "Building with Wood." This episode highlights the opportunities, challenges and urgency of wood construction - a topic that we at NICE Developers are working on every day.

Mark Compeer and Robert Winkel share their views on timber construction in this episode. SAWA, developed by NICE together with ERA Contour, is extensively highlighted as THE example of how we need to build more in the future if we want to reduce CO₂ emissions and want to reduce CO₂ want to be neutral.
There are also contributions from experts such as wood construction expert Pablo van der Lugt and professor of European forest Gert-Jan Nabuurs, which address the sustainability and supply of wood. You'll be taken around the construction site and hear how inspired Faisel, one of the builders of ERA is. And you get an inside look at the factory of Derix, SAWA's wood supplier. Of course, important topics such as fire safety and the use of circular materials are also covered.

It became an engaging and relevant broadcast for anyone interested in sustainable building innovations and the future of wood construction.
