SAWA out of the scaffolding
December 17, 2024Construction of SAWA, Rotterdam's first 50-meter-high circular wooden building, is nearing an important completion phase. With completion scheduled for 2025, the contours of this groundbreaking project are now clearly visible. And with SAWA largely out of the scaffolding, the pure and blonde nature of the wooden design is becoming increasingly visible.

The highest point was reached this September with the installation of a specially designed penthouse for the peregrine falcon, a symbol of SAWA's nature-inclusive design. Since then, a lot of hard work has gone into further finishes and details.
The building is now almost completely equipped with its wooden facade, the last part of the low-rise is currently being constructed, and inside all the homes are being completed and finished. The first planters have been hung on the balconies, increasingly shaping SAWA's green character. And the first gallery railings have also been installed, another step toward completion.

Completion and rental in 2025
The completion of SAWA is scheduled for 2025, a milestone that is eagerly awaited. The building will not only be a unique addition to the Rotterdam skyline, but also set an example for sustainable, circular high-rise buildings worldwide.
Beginning in early 2025, registration will begin for both mid-rent and free sector rental properties. Want to learn more or register for a home? Visit SAWA's website and stay informed about this groundbreaking project. Together we look forward to completion in 2025!
