Section C is a 6-hectare former factory site on the outskirts of Eindhoven in the district of Tongelre. Until 2007, the site served as a production complex for Stork-Nolte Elektrotechnische en Mechanische Industrie where switchboards, lampposts and traffic signs were made. It is one of the former industrial complexes where Eindhoven is redefining itself.
The site houses mostly creative entrepreneurs and designers in a creative eco-system. The tenants are united to develop initiatives that contribute to the creative eco-system including the organization of exhibitions and the DDW. In this, they work closely with the municipality to keep Section-C the "design area" with approximately 25,000 visitors. With the same intention, Focus purchased the complex in 2019 to ensure the value of the incubator for the city.
In cooperation with the Municipality of Eindhoven and the Sectie-C Foundation, a plan initiative has been launched to redevelop Sectie C into a new urban district. The basis that is there now will be further developed into a future-proof ecosystem in a mixed-use area of living, working and (be)living.
