Together with housing association Parteon, NICE Developers is developing NICE Developers circular timber construction project in Wormerveer. The plan comprises approximately 100 lifetime homes, 60% of which will be social housing and the rest mid-range rental properties. By building in timber, CO₂ is stored and we are actively contributing to climate improvement. In addition, affordability, community building, and biodiversity are central: from smart, future-proof floor plans to communal areas and nature-inclusive outdoor spaces. This creates a livable neighborhood where residents can live sustainably and healthily.
Living independently at home for longer
The homes are being developed to be fully life-cycle-proof, with the aim of enabling residents to live independently at home for longer. Thanks to intelligent designs and thoughtful layouts, the homes can adapt to evolving residential requirements.
Sustainable timber construction
Timber construction plays a central role in this development. It is not only a renewable resource but also a proven method for drastically reducing CO₂ emissions in construction. For both Parteon and NICE, this represents a deliberate choice that perfectly aligns with our vision for circular and climate-conscious development.
Flexibility and living quality
The project extends beyond mere material selection. Thanks to the flexible timber construction method, the layout of the homes can be adapted in the future to accommodate evolving residential needs. Furthermore, considerable attention is paid to communal spaces and meeting points, which foster neighborhood connection and contribute to a vibrant community. Living quality is also central: generous daylight access, high-quality outdoor areas, and thoughtful circulation ensure a pleasant living environment for all ages. Moreover, our ambition is to develop the building in a nature-inclusive way, thereby making a visible contribution to local biodiversity.
