Cirkelstad Insight Session Project Evaluations The New Normal

“SAWA originated from our own initiative. For The New Normal, incentives are crucial. Without them, the market won't mobilize, and acceleration won't occur.”

Accelerating Together: “The New Normal”
The Dutch government has a significant ambition: a Circular Netherlands by 2050. To achieve this ambition within the construction sector, acceleration is essential. Acceleration is needed on a substantive level: 'What do we understand by circular construction, and how far should we go?' And acceleration on an economic level: 'Will this market truly emerge, and are there sufficient benchmarks?'
The Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations (BZK) and Cirkelstad have initiated the 'Accelerating Together' program. In this program, the Central Government Real Estate Agency, Rijkswaterstaat, Amsterdam, The Hague, Rotterdam, Utrecht, Dura Vermeer, Van Wijnen, Volker Wessels, BAM, and Synchroon are working towards signing the covenant: 'Circular Construction: The New Normal' in 2023.
