Webinar SAWA at OMI

On April 20, 2021, Nice Developers Mei organized a live webinar about SAWA in OMI with Pieter Kuster. In the webinar, Robert Winkel presents SAWA, the first entirely wooden residential building in Rotterdam. Winkel discusses the underlying ideas, from the construction to the intended community and biodiversity in SAWA, including the rich assortment of plants and nesting boxes for various birds. The livestream ended with a Q&A in which listeners asked questions about this project and its significance for the current housing challenge.

The webinar is part of the program for the exhibition ‘Rotterdam and Mei’. The exhibition highlights the largest projects in Rotterdam that Mei architects and planners, the architect of SAWA, has realized over the years, including the award-winning transformation of Fenix I, the Jobsveem warehouse, the renovation of the Lijnbaan, and the new McDonald's pavilion.
