During the construction of SAWA, Nice developers are following Nice developers the footsteps of SAWA's materials. We are doing this to see with our own eyes how sustainable the production process really is. Mark and Robert from Nice are looking for answers to questions such as: Where does SAWA's wood come from?
Is forestry carried out in a sustainable manner?
And how is CLT produced in a sustainable way?
In the first episode of From Tree to Construction Site, they travel to the Derix timber factory in Westerkappeln. Here, they gain insight into the entire supply chain, from the origin of the trees to the logistical movements and processing required to ultimately deliver the timber to the construction site.
