SAWA circular exemplary project of The New Normal

SAWA is one of the exemplary circular projects that has been placed along the bar of The New Normal (HNN). Circle City recently visited Nice Place and the mock-up of SAWA. Jaap van Deurzen interviewed Mark and Robert in detail about SAWA, about Nice's ambitions, the technical innovations and the future of SAWA's circular concept. Handreiking Cirkelstad Zuid-Holland: 'Showing that circular building is just possible'

On Friday, February 10 - during the Week of the Circular Economy - Circle City South Holland handed over the handbook of The New Normal (HNN) to deputies of South Holland. With HNN we are working towards an unambiguous language and new "standard" in the field of circular construction.

From September to November 2022, Cirkelstad Zuid-Holland, together with Alba Concepts, Stichting iCircl, start with 8 and the province of Zuid-Holland, organized a trajectory for various clients and contractors around The New Normal. The participants were Inbo, De Groene Jongens, Province of South Holland, Wooncompas, HA-HA Design & Development, BIK Bouw, ASVZ, BM van Houwelingen, Van der Hulst Bouwbedrijf, Havensteder, Nice Developers, mei architects and planners, RoosRos Architects and Urban Climate Architects.

As part of this project, a digital guide was developed that includes lessons learned, circular example projects and practical tools to get started with circular construction. The projects were evaluated on environmental impact, dealing with residual materials, detachability and use of materials. The guide gives a clear picture of how these projects put circular building into practice.
