SAWA practice at COP26 in Glasgow
November 11, 2021This week, Climate Cleanup, ASN bank and Gideon are presenting the report Construction Stored Carbon to Dutch climate envoy Jaime de Bourbon de Parme at COP26 in Glasgow. This report uses SAWA as a practical example to show how bio-based construction contributes positively to climate goals.

SAWA will be constructed entirely - including main supporting structure - in CLT, saving 2,085,674 kg of CO2 on. This amount corresponds to, for example, the emissions resulting from 17,675,203 kilometers driven by car or the electricity consumption of 2,317 households in the Netherlands in one year.
SAWA thus demonstrates that building with wood and other natural materials reduces CO2-emissions than conventional materials and CO2-storage for the long term. Building with wood is thus a practical and concrete solution in the transition to a fossil-free, clean building sector and economy! #SAWAisthefuture
